Default A6 purchase: Your opinions

Gents, locking in on my first Audi purchase coming from a 2007 328. I wanted to see if anyone had any general ideas on the options i am considering:

2016 A6 2.0 Premium Plus CPO - 5000-7000 miles
2017 new A6 2.0 with 'Season of Audi package - great price
2016 A6 3.0 Premium Plus - 7000-10000 miles

A few notes:

- I focused on 2016 models as i like the styling better and the extra HP in the 2.0

- Obviously, i would love the 3.0 but i drove the 2.0 and it felt fine. Sure the 3.0 was a rocket. In my mind, i don't need the speed or want to drop the extra $5000. I kept it on the list in the event the deal cant be passed up.

- The 2017 A6 is a premium with the season of audi package. The initial price i got was very good. Anyone have thoughts on that package?

Thanks in advance!

Based on what you stated I'd save the dough & go for the CPO'd 2016 A6 2.0 Premium Plus .

Regarding the Season of Audi package, I would just get the premium plus package and cold weather package. I would also skip the 19 inch wheels. But if the CPO is in good shape and a good deal I would also consider it. Why is it CPO?. The original warranty should apply.

Out of the three, I would choose the 2016 A6 2.0 Premium Plus CPO - 5000-7000 miles.

Less of a depreciation hit and a longer warranty. Of course that you depend on how long you keep cars and how many miles per year you average.

CPO warranty gets added to the balance of the factory warranty.

The CPO kicks in when the original warranty ends. While it doesn't cover all of the same things as the original and there's a small deductible, you get another 2 years or an extra 50K miles whichever comes first. It's about a $2500 value.

What's the price of each? I bought a CPO 2016 A6 2.0T P+ back in July of last year with LED package, S-line, and cold weather with around 5500 miles.

In late 05' I bought an 05' A8 CPO w/1700 miles.

Kept it for 10 years and it was a great purchase. However, the value of the car sunk like a rock for several years.

I just sprung for a 14' A6 last month (11k miles) for about $24k off the original msrp. It's not a CPO but still has 14 or 15 months of warranty. I'd be surprised if the year over year drop in value isn't as harsh as the ol' A8.

The more expensive, or rare, a car is, determines it's depreciation. People who can afford these usually buy new.

An A8 depreciates much faster than an A6, and even faster than an A4 (and now the A3).

My 07 Honda CR-V which I traded in for a new 12 BMW X3 held its value multi fold compared to the BMW which I traded in for my 16 Audi A6. I think the CRV listed for $27k and I got around $17k if I am recalling correctly. The BMW listed for $45k and I got $19k. These were prices that were on Galves.
