Extra storage & Cell phone holder & Car Seat Gap Filler
I decided to spend a bit of time in researching what I thought would be the best storage compartments and a good cell phone holder that works how I wanted it to...
Phone stand: iOttie3
The one thing that I noticed about all the stands were that they were either vent-mounted, which I didn't like because it was getting in the way of the console & I'm a tall guy so it would be a bit of a reach. I dug a bit and found the iOttie3:
You can see once it is set up it it is level with our MMI screen, no intrussive at all, very easily accessible. Having the phone in place, the steering wheel didn't interfere with vision of the phone.
Now for the kicker. I don't like it. If I don't like this one, which is EXACTLY what I wanted out of a phone stand, I will not be having a phone stand in my car. I just find it useless. If you're going to use your phone in the car, then having it in your hand is actually easier than concentrating where your finger is while you are driving. If you're using android auto, then it's just easier to use the integrated one with your car. So... in essence, pointless. I have already returned it.
Extra Storage: Side Pocket
I think this is just great. I asked my wife to jump in the car to see if it was uncomfortable at all for her and it doesn't even touch her leg...so that's settled. It's great. Has a little coin holder, and all the stuff that used to be in the bottles holders, flopping around and what now, is nicely organized on the side.
Car Seat Gap Filler
Forgot to take a pic of this... but it's basically what the title says. Fills the gap in case you drop something. Only first on driver's side as the other side has the extra storage compartment now. I don't like it as much as I saw someone else post, but they bought one from the US... and amazon Canada doesn't carry that...even though the one in the US has ridiculously good reviews... In any case it does the job is hardly visible w/ the black seats and black interior of my car.

How did you manage to install the extra storage compartment there? It looks big and I didn't know there was that much space between the seat and center console.

Love it! It's actually really cool I found cause I don't have to worry about anything. I know when it's in the best position and I know how much space away from it I can park if my tires are wet from outside and still have the garage not close down on the car
