Navigation Problems
I've been having problems at times with the navigation recognizing my location. It happens sporadically, usually when I'm trying to get to a new, unfamiliar location. Sometimes when the map is in 3d mode, the arrow just seems to "hover" and not move. At other times, the system thinks I'm on a street parallel to the one I'm on or it thinks that I'm going in a direction opposite to that I'm actually travelling.
Took the car to the dealer, who did a software update and reset the MMI. (I had already tried an MMI reset on previous occasions, which had not effect.)
I've heard on other forums that reseting the car battery can fix the problem, but I'm not sure how to do that or whether it's a good idea in the first place.

What year allroad? This forum is for the older models.
Resetting the battery won't do anything for the issue. If the problem persists, the dealer should be checking the roof antenna and the wiring continuity. It's happened before with intermittent nav signals. Next would be the 5F module which controls nav, radio and Audi Connect.
