Center display starts after few minutes when cold
Hi
On my 2006 Audi A6, the center display starts slow when cold outside(it takes 1-2-3 minutes, depending how cold it is here in South Florida ). I noticed it happens in the morning only. In summer (or over 80F) it comes on normal. Is it hard to replace or fix? What is the part number?
Thanks

have seen it in my 2006 A6 and 2008 A6.....but only when the temp drop below 25F....so really cold.
Also, as per my other thread and not sure if related...my display just stopped working altogether this month....

digital display portion of the instrument cluster
also, how do I get rid of the SAFE and other various lights which are ON on the new display?
I put back my old display until I figure it out, but any help is really appreciated.
thanks

I finally found some time to replace the the instrument cluster with the one I got from an accidented A6. The car starts but the digital display shows SAFE now. I also noticed the mileage is 165k, and not 80k I currently have. I assume the instrument cluster stored the car mileage. Can it be reset to the current mileage?

I put back the old one and now it seems to work fine.
I switched the display between the 2 units and both displays work fine. I noticed one display (older one 2006) has 3 pins and the newer one (2008) only 2. Most likely the issue is not the display but the computer / capacitor that controls the display.
after I installed all parts back I have no air from the center vents. Initially there was no air from the driver vent as well, but it came back once I activated the Econ mode. Center vents still don’t work. I double checked if I connected all wires. this worked fine before I removed it.
how can I reset the AC without a VAGCOM? Do you thing this might help?
thanks

Thanks. I tried to replace the bad one from my board with another one from another board, but unfortunately i broke one of the pins while removing the good one. I got a new board junk yard and I'll try again. Hopefully i make it this time.
