Default Right reverse light not working.... help

*Recently purchased a '06 convertible w/3.0L engine.... I love this car! Since purchased I've been trying to solve the reverse light issue, I bought it with the light out and didn't even give it a second thought at the time. I replaced the bulb with 4 separate bulbs, 7506 & even tried an 1156. None work. When I put a light tester on it, it flashes on and off. Anybody ever deal with a similar problem? *Also, re the rear light assembly, in addition to the bolt that holds it in place there are two nubs that the assembly fits into to hold it securely to the body. One of the nubs is/was broken, anybody know if the nub can be replaced & how to do it?

Thanks.... mz500

Inside the socket there are two metal strips that the bulb makes contact with, one of those metal strips was partially missing (broken). I bent it a bit allowing for contact with the bulb (7506). Prior to my purchase of the car someone tied replacing that bulb. That effort only succeeded in breaking the socket (the bulb goes in one way only) , breaking one of the ball screws that hold the assembly in place, stripping the bolt that holds the assembly to the car.,,,, actually stripping the assembly itself by over tightening the bolt and crack the assembly lens. Ultimately the assembly fell out and I had to install a new assembly. Good luck

Default Plastic retaining bolt

Hi. Yes u can buy this part on ebay. I have just fixed same problem. U have to drill out old plastic bolt and just put new 1 in. My right reverse light dosnt work, after reading some bits though I'm starting to think it only has 1 reverse light on the left. Mines a 2007 a4 sline cab 2.0 tdi.
