New Owner of MK1 TT... Mods????
What going on guys! Picked up my 2001 180hp FWD TT back in Christmas of 2016, owners were current CHP officers who enjoyed the car for weekend drives, really cool people, kept it in great shape and only racked up 79,000 miles on the odometer for a really good price.
Feel free to check out the photos in my album by the way, I'll be sure to keep them updated
I'm loving it so far, but I'm curious to see what potential it really has....and from the money I saved up from buying it at it's price I'm possibly looking into multiple options for the car. Lights, exhaust, rims, cams, clutch, deck, bluetooth, ECU flashes, tunes, body kits (reasonable, not Ricey mind you)... pretty much want to get a feel for what's available for the car.
Now this is a bit of a stretch only because I wouldn't want to ruin the character of the car- to me it's an instant classic with the setup it already comes with- but i know there's experts out there that can give me ideas as to the methods of taking the peppy 180hp into something formidable and enjoyable without too much risk. My intention is to get involved with the community as much as I can as well- I'm new but I'm happy to be here!

Part of the stack of papers I got from the previous owners includes dealership letters- I have one documented saying that up until 115k miles the timing belt is fully covered because of the lawsuit that was placed on Audi. So for the most part it's covered and replaced already.
Thanks for the tip though, if anyone's curious to see the letter, feel free to ask I'll be happy to upload a pdf or picture of it.

No of course, I've been stuck on this forum for weeks before actually buying the car so I was aware of that issue.

I've had not one, but two 1.8 L VW/Audi engine timing belts fail at 95,000-100,000 miles. Bent valves galore. First one VW/Audi ate, second one my son & I repaired.
Never again will I wait for the 105,000 recommended interval.
