winter tires dilemma
I have a 2017 Q7 with 20" 285/45/20 run flat all seasons and I want to purchase a set of wheels with winter tires.
Ideally I would downsize to 19" for winter tires since they are cheaper and easier to find. The problem is that I don't have a spare tire. Should I get run-flat winter tires ? Those are also hard to find, expensive and apparently not performing as good as non run-flats.
Should I get non run-flat tires and simply keep one of the all-season wheels in the trunk for just in case? That also sucks because it takes so much trunk space.

I don't use RFT winter tires, nor do I carry a spare. There's the compressor and sealant in the trunk and worst case is that I've got to use Audi roadside assistance.

According to the info I was able to find o this forum the 19" wheels that come with the Q7 are 19 x 8.5 ET28 with a center lug of 66.6 mm.
I found a set of 19" from a S5 on ebay that have a slightly greater offset of 32mm vs 28mm and otherwise same specs.
4mm sounds like nothing to me and they should probably fit. Can anybody confirm that ?

That is a bit of a question mark. I bought S5 wheels, manufactured by Speedline and they fit, but the supposed max load means that I can only carry 700-800 lbs in the car before the maximum load limit of the wheels is reached. Interestingly enough, there is no max load printed on the wheels but I was able to find an Audi document stating what the max load of the wheels needs to be for the S5, but not what it actually is. The wheel construction is robust, but I would never tow anything with the winter wheels on the car.

Nice! I have a glacier white with black optic on order (coming late March). Are those the matte graphite wheels on tire rack? I've been debating whether to grab a winter tire/wheel set at end of season (may need it for a bit of time this year) or wait till late summer/fall to get them. Does the dark silver work well with the black optics?

Looks really good.
BTW - where are the Axis wheels made? I would like to stay away from chinese products because of the poor quality control.
I found some rims made by OZ in Malaysia, some in Italy and some Alutechs made in in Poland on Tire Rack.
