Default 35K ATF CHANGE PROCEDURE 2.0T

Any DIY out there in reference to changing the ATF fluid and filter on a 2.0t with the DSG / Stronic. Dealer wants $450 to make it happens. Seems crazy to me unless there is more to it than meets the eye. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks. I have seen that one. Seems time consuming but technically not too bad if you have the right tools for the job. Worth giving a shot to keep a few hundred dollars in my pocket. Thanks again

You may be able to take it to a VW dealer. I had the DSG fluid change done on my 2010 GTI a few years ago and with a 10% off coupon from Costco it cost me about $250.00.
I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure the GTI drive train is the same or similar to the A3's 2.0T.

I bought one of these on Ebay... "DSG Transmission Service Oil Filling Fluid Change Adaptor For VW Audi" and then went by some good instructions I found on a TDI website. I attached one end of a hose I bought at an auto store to this part and the other end to a hole in the cap of the DSG fluid bottle. The hole I drilled in the cap was a little smaller than the rubber hose I had so it made a good seal. I then turned the DSG fluid bottle upside down. punctured a hole to the top, and inserted pressurized air to force the fluid into the tranny. That took about 20 seconds per bottle. Another time I used a oil fill tube I bought at Walmart and inserted it into where the tranny filter goes to fill it. It took about 5 minutes per bottle that way.

Looking at the procedure this does not seem much more complicated or time consuming compared to an engine oil change... So why $450 at the dealer?

Your guess is as good as mine. There are a few parts you have to take off and parts / fluids are probably close to $100. The rest is the usual inflated dealer costs I guess. Got everything on the way, going to tackle it on my own.
