Default A4 trunk randomly pops open

Had car since November. Trunk has popped open 4 times now, all times while in the garage. Fob is in the house (attached garage, trunk maybe 15 feet from where the fob would be. Car is sitting at dealer. They have no idea why the problem exists (no info from Audi). Anyone heard of this issue?

Default Trunk opened 3 times recently

We have had the same issue. Key fob in drawer, no one driving it and neighbor texted to let us know trunk was open. I found it open when I was going out, but assumed I bumped the button. My son also said he found it open when he was leaving. I think this and the blinking lights when raining are some strange electrical issues.

My 2017 trunk would pop open at random, so I turned it in at lease end. The dealer was no help at all while I had the car. The 2019 replacement car hasn't had the same problem - yet.

My trunk used to do that occasionally. But once is too much, if you ask me. I often carry expensive camera equipment with me.

So I used my OBDEleven and lengthened the time it takes for the trunk to open when pressing the key remote. That solved the problem. There are threads in this forum on how to do it.

Yes, been mentioned before as you can see by tht link. Best and simplest fix is have the dealer reset the key for a 3 second release. Problem solved.

Will that solve it? My trunk opened even when the key was not in my pocket, so the button could not have been pressed.
