I would appreciate help finding out my engine number in order to fill out customs paperwork prior to the arrival of my 2017 3.0T Q7. The car is currently inside a container ship so I can't check physically.
Is it possible to get Engine Number from the VIN ?

Call the dealer you ordered from or Audi. I am sure they are aware of your requirement. I'm sure only they can get this info for you without looking

Yes, thank you. I have already contacted Audi Ottawa and am currently awaiting their response. Sometimes an answer is obtained much more quickly on an active forum such as this.

Audi of Ottawa, who sold me the car, just answered my former assistant at the Embassy that "It is impossible to get the engine number without physically checking the vehicle, sorry".
I cannot however access the vehicle until I submit the engine number on one of the customs forms required for clearance. Nice.

Try calling Audi of Canada Customer Care and see if you can get results through them. They will probably have to go all the way back to the factory in Germany to dig up that info.

Can anyone confirm with certainty whether or not it is possible for my dealer, or Audi Canada, or perhaps headquarters in Germany can cross reference my VIN and provide me the impossibly hard to learn engine SERIAL NUMBER? I now know the Engine Code is CREC followed by the elusive engine serial number.

I can say with certainty that Audi has this in their actual build spec. I cannot imagine that they do not track this along with the serial number of many parts that go in the vehicle. Otherwise, how would they know who to contact in the case of a recall? Someone just needs to work a bit harder to get you this info at Audi
