Do the OEM LED license plate lights fit older Q7's?
Does anyone know the answer to this? I think I saw somewhere that it was plug and play. But I did a little searching and can't find any definite answers. I'm sick of burning through 6418 halogen bulbs every week becuase I have my tail lights coded to be on with my DRLs. I originally had some aftermarket CANBUS LEDs, they ended up getting old and began flickering.

I'm interested too as I also go through bulbs frequently.
My issue is more to do with water though - looks like water is getting in an causing some rusting on the contacts as well as clouding the inside of the lenses to the point that the light output is so low it almost looks like there's no plate lights on at all.
So so my question is to ask if the OEM Leds come in a kit that includes the lenses and contacts/socket, or is it just the bulbs?

Ahhhh Canadian winters with the slush the slush and all. same problem here. The aftermarket kit I had ordered has gaskets that are too big,I have ordered an OEM set from ECS on sale and will apply grease to the gasket plus dielectric grease to the contacts.

So I just received them in the mail and installed them.. they fit nicely, but don't work, but it's hard to tell why they're not working.. I don't think the connections are long enough to touch the terminals. Or it could be caused by the corrosion on the connectors. Hmmm

And if Grey's tip of using a pencil eraser doesn't work well enough you can also try to wipe them with some CLR cleaning solution.
When I last did mine a couple of months ago that helped a lot. On one side though, I also had to use some very fine sand paper too (or might have been emory cloth). Used a very light touch.
You can also try to very gently lift the contacts up a bit to see if you can get a tighter contact. That should help too. Don't give up yet!
