Audi Q5 make the exhaust louder
Hello,
I am the owner of a 2014 Audi Q5 2.0L TFSI and am looking to make the exhaust louder. I am wanting to either do a muffler delete or a resonator delete or both or something else, I dont know. I would like the exhaust to have a deeper and louder tone to it. I want to know what I should do to make it a deeper and louder growl. What other parts should I get and what should I do to make it louder.
Thanks

Wouldn't the APR or AWE Cat resonated downpipes be enough?? Without cat it is even cheaper and you can find many offers at ebay (I prefer with CAT). APR: an intoxicating exhaust note, while remaining civilized during normal daily driving.

Drop in a big block V8 engine and it will sound sweeter than a tiny 4-banger with a turbo.
But on the exhaust...be aware that depending on the state you are in, doing anything that makes the car louder than OEM may be illegal, and if your state has annual inspections, they may fail it.
Sometimes folks get an expensive surprise that way.

Yeap I read that APR stage 2 fails the emission tests because they removed the secondary O2 sensor reading from their stage 2 ecu firmware tune. I dont know if they have fixed this issue. Giac I believe did not remove this O2 sensor reading from stage 2 ecu tune so a more acceptable option. Removing the original CAT will create visual inspection MOT problems in most countries/states, emission and or sound issues may be added to this.
Having said this for future reference there is also a nice offering from 034Motorsport. ( High Flow Catalytic Converter downpipe). They also have a secondary oxygen sensor spacer (if mill problems arise, just in case). This could be the best less costly option out of the 3. I wish it was easy to install/fit and remove for testing purposes but it is not. I would like to definitely to test this one, even without tuning the engine. The problem for me is that it does not fit RHD vehicles.
I fully agree though. My Audi Q5 211 hp TFSi or the one you probably have with 225 hp does not sound like turbo only drives like one but again this is a luxury SUV and not a Mitsubishi EVO, though it could be modified like one (k04 turbo stage 3), but not street legal I would imagine.

I have a 2013 Q5 3.0T with APR stage 2 tune. I thought about getting the AWE exhaust for more aggressive sound but but didn't want to spend $3k so I decided to go with the electric cutout option. I bought the QTP electric cutout with remote option and had a local shop install it. I love the fact that you can adjust the level of exhaust sound with press of a button.

One could upgrade his Audi Q5 8R exhaust with the original electronic 4-pipe active exhaust system Kit found in the AUDI SQ5 8R. He needs to have the drive select, so the noise generation can switch automatically with the press of a button, and the SQ5 rear bumper with 4 tail pipes (I think all 3.0l have it) otherwise another expensive retrofit.
I think this is an alternative solution to AWE if one wishes to spend 3k.
I prefer your solution .

The little I understand about the Audi kit is that it just shunts the exhaust internally, where real cut-outs actually allow the exhaust to blow out way way upstream of the tailpipe. Radically reducing exhaust pressure, as if you'd just cut the pipes after the exhaust manifold.
