Default Wheel Storage? Wheel "bags"?

I am looking for an efficient and safe way to store my OEM wheels for my SQ5 (the 21" wheels). I have "winter" and "summer" tires and aftermarket wheels which I love and do not intend to put the OEM wheels back on the vehicle but have not decided what I'm going to do with them...All that said, has anyone ever heard of any kind of wheels "bags" or some safe way to store them without the tires so they don't scratch?

Thank you

I think there is some felt bags you can get for rims (not sure from where) If I were you I would get a tire rack to store them and wrap them in moving blankets for the best protection.

plastic bags for tires are better IMHO. why. they help to keep that air out and that is one things that reduces tire life. I just place them in the bags on the tire rack in my garage. watch out the 21" tire/wheel combo is heavy

Hard to find in consumer stores, but on Amazon you can find 34-gallon and 55-gallon heavy plastic bags, sold as liners for storage and shipping drums and janitorial supplies. Those are big enough to hold the tires, thick enough to endure, and cheap enough so you can throw them away if they get too dirty. If you have the space to store the tires "standing up" instead of stacked, that also protects the rims. Otherwise, some newspaper or corrugated cardboard between them is all you'd need.

I believe the OP is storing them without tires, so I'd second the moving blankets option and just use some of that moving plastic wrap on top of that to keep it all together. The tire totes bags won't work without tires.

"I believe the OP is storing them without tires,"
AH. Storing the OEM wheels for a rainy day, or when the car is passed on. Dunno...I'd just sell them off, and figure whatever wheels are on the car, won't fit the next car anyhow. (Odds?) There are an incredible variety of cardboard boxes, good heavyweight boxes, in all sorts of "not at the corner uHaul store" sizes available online. I'd opt for those and crushed newspaper or other packing material.

Just the wheels? Hit the local tire and wheel store with a 10 spot for the guy in charge of the cardboard recycle bin.
