Default VCDS alternative?

Being new to AudiLand, this whole VCDS programming thing seems necessary for a lot of the tweaks I want to accomplish. I don't have a PC (Mac only), elsewise I'd buy the software and have at it.

Are there any other systems that will do pretty much the same thing, either on the Mac platform, or better yet, a wired and/or wi-fi app that runs on Android? I have the Carista OBD2 dongle and app, but it doesn't do a whole lot other than basic readings and resettings.

Thanks for any input!

VCDS works fine on Apple Mac computers that have Intel processors (all modern Macs) when Windows is installed on them using Boot Camp https://support.apple.com/boot-camp

There are no other systems you can buy as a consumer that do near what VCDS does. There are lessor options:
OBDeleven: Audi, Volkswagen, Seat & Skoda diagnostic system
Carista ? OBD2 vehicle diagnostics, customizations, coding & tools

I run it on a mac using virtual box and a an old windows 7 install I have. Works great once you capture the usb port for the cable.

Take a look at the XTOOL VAG 401 It is a standalone ODB2 (scanner/programmer) and is just $60. I keep it in my trunk and have used it a lot to enable and change things on my car.
Added: Nav, Paddle Shifters, MP3 Audio, Folding Mirrors.... and a bunch of more.

Thanks, daczone! Just ordered one on Amazon for $40 - a lot easier to justify than $250! The paddles and mirrors alone will justify the cost. Do you know if I'll be able to change the soft touch turn signal count from 3 to 5 or 7? That's one of my pet peeves.
