Any of you guys use cargo/trunk mats?
Hey guys...im looking to buy a cargo/trunk mat for my s8 and wanted to see if any of you out there are using any. I have found some carpet ones that look pretty nice called Luxe...they are $199 which is quite high but would like this nice plush one. think it would help with things moving around in the back...however seems like most of the trunk mats cover up the latches which is not good since i like the option of strapping things down.

Yes. One from eBay Europe--fairly basic rubber. Realize the S8 uses a different size/shape than most. Like all facelifts, it is longer. But it does't have a recess in much of center of floor like most A8's do--due to a thicker spare tire well cover for sound insulation. For example, order one from MacNeill/Weathertech and it fits wrong. I did a prior post on this problem.

That's way off, so I would regard listing as internet junk. One doesn't even get to the subtle trunk floor issue with S8's post facelift. With the facelift itself they modified the trunk so it is about 4" longer front to back on the floor. A simple design error made from D3 to D4 that a lot of D3 or other luxobarge owners choke on some.
Thus, at least start by finding mat listings that have the facelift correct, then get into whether it has flat floor like S8 needs, or the indented floor like most A8's have. You need to see pictures of the real product to answer the latter cleanly, and not just a "representative" picture. Even D4 dealer factory mat doesn't work BTW; I had audiusaparts look at it carefully. Explained if you work through link, though pictures even early on make clear the difference about the floor indent. derf's post reply #4 also illustrates clearly what happens if you still put pre facelift into post facelift.

No, not weather tech. Had to return theirs due to faulty spec. Off a Euro eBay listing I found. I think this is it: Boot liner Trunk Mat Antislip for Audi A8 D4 saloon 2013- also Quattro/sparetire | eBay Only real option I ever found that seemed correct, and when I received it indeed it went right in like OE type. Just need to let it relax a while since it comes rolled up.
It is soft plastic so doesn't slide at all--fits into trunk very closely at all sides. The center area--where that recess is on most A8's--has a rubber type material glued to it. Glue job wasn't great, but it is pretty effective on keeping things from sliding around on a plastic surface. Notice it is stamped with cut out locations for the cargo net hold downs. I never use cargo net, but could be done.
