Default 05 A6 3.2 leaky injector on cylinder one...

Where do I start? Looking to fix this myself and I'm told that with the FSI, injection is underneath the valve cover?

I believe not a real easy job, & I'd probably do them all to save future aggravation. Just my $0.02.
(How was it diagnosed?)

PO had suspected after pulling the engine. Theres a misfire on cylinder 1 code and the car in general takes awhile to start.

After doing more searching, I've read so far that the intake has to come off and there are several tools used to put the new o rings and seals on the injectors? Has enough time passed for a clever DIYer to come up with a method that doesn't require all these tools?

New injectors will come with the seals pre-installed, IIRC.

Thanks for responding... I am told it's the seal and not the actual injector that is leaking so I am looking to see what others have done with regards to teflon seal and o rings. Have people just replaced the orings and call it a day?
any diy pages created for the removal and installation of injectors into FSI engines?

Here's the repair manual associated with Audi A6 2005 specific to Fuel Injection and Ignition. It provides a step-by-step walk through of exactly how to replace your injectors and determine troubleshooting for issues you might be experiencing with them.

Thanks very much Raj!

Typically is the o-ring more likely to go than the teflon seal?

I wouldn't guess with a 12 year old vehicle and just change out both of them...why risk it when you've done most of the work just getting to that point.

You can always swap out the injectors to see if they are good, if that's the route you want to go.

I'd go the other way and just change the o-ring if that's the leak (which, I must admit, I find surprising). Getting the manifold and fuel lines off is fairly easy. But getting the injectors out is a pain, and the failure rate on the teflon rings is near zero.
