Newbie here. Just bought a 2017 Q7 Prestige orca black. I am looking to tint the two front windows and am wondering if anyone else here has done it and if they can post pics and specs for their tint? I was told by one local place in Northern Virginia that they would recommend 30% for the front. I want the front to be as dark as the rest of the windows.

Also, has anyone tinted the rest of the windows (excluding windshield) darker than the factory tint? If so, what spec? and can you post pictures please?+

20% on the front two windows, 35% around the rear half, 70% on the windshield... Car matches really well (maybe a little darker in the rear, but not much). They used Xpel Prime XR tint.

I had mine tinted to match the back windows. 35% LLumar Ceramic film.

Y'all must live in states where tinting front windows is legal. Not so much here in NY.

Not legal in NJ either., but speeding is illegal too! All my vehicles are tinted and I've never had an issue. It greatly depends on the area you are in.

NY now tests your window tint as part of your annual inspection. If driver & passenger front windows are higher than 30% tint, you fail your inspection.

I'd put 30% on all my windows and 70% on the windshield. Can't test a windshield and 70% isn't noticeable if the installer is good.
