Default Bluetooth Module

I am looking to fit a Bluetooth module to my 2004 A8, and have looked everywhere for a part number that will be compatible but have not found a single post. So I am wondering if this module:
will work. Thank you for yall's advice.

Part number looks right... 4E0 862 335. I have an 05 A8 that I retrofitted with BT and your HW and SW part numbers are the same as the module I bought.

Thank you. Did you happen to place the module in the original place, under the drivers footwell? The only thing I would need is a long MOST loop cable; which I am finding hard to find!

Install it in the left trunk box. There you probably have free optic connection bridged by a loop, dedicated to Sirius radio. All you need are 2 microphone wires from underneath the drivers seat. It is also much safer from flood.

I have considered this. The only thing is I like to have XM from time to time. Surprisingly it came fitted to a 2004. How did you manage to get the two microphone wires from under the drivers seat to the trunk?

Even with XM it is much easier to connect it there. You can use AMI optic "Y". Microphone wires just follow the rest of the wires going underneath the seal trims and the rear seat.

Do you happen to have the part number for the AMI optic "Y"? I have searched all over with no success besides: 18e1 Kabelsatz CD-Wechsler Audi MMI 2G Plug Play LWL Lichtwellenleiter A4 A8 A6 | eBay

I am just not sure if this works or not.

FWIW I installed in original location; removed the OnStar module and put this in its place, under driver's carpet. All the wiring was already there except MOST loop/extension, which I got via ebay. There is a flood risk as Mishar says, but I've never had a problem - maybe it's because I live in the desert.

All the wiring is present in the trunk, including optic loop, except two microphone wires. Much easier task and no flood even if you live in Vancouver.
