So I have this 10 yr old audi and i was hearing a creaking noise from the right front wheel area. Like a creaking noise. Not at high speeds but when I would be rolling very slow.. And even at stand still when you turn the wheel it creaks. Like an old door opening slowly.
So i bring it to the dealer and they replace the lower control arms.. Still creaking
I bring it back to them specifically complaining of the noise and the right front wobbling a little i feel. They inspect it and say it is the strut that is making the noise.. They replace the strut and still the noise.. Am i obligated to a refund until they find the problem? Is it unreasonable for me to say fix it and apply what i have already spent on wrong repairs towards the right repair?

Yes, you should be able to get a refund if they reinstall your old parts. Otherwise, it will be tough to get a refund. Maybe a discount would be possible.

It took my audi dealer to diagnose a similar noise coming from the front left tire area about a week to figure out it was the sway bar link/bushings that needed replacement. Maybe you can try to talk to the service manager, like most Audi dealerships they are very weary upon receiving anything less than 5 stars on their service surveys. Worth a shot!

update:

I finally took it to another dealer and they fixed the problem.

THe orginally audi dealer had changed the engine mounts seven months ago and they put the replacement mounts back on the wrong way or backwards. I kept on returning the car about this creaking noise. All they did was replace control arms and struts saying the noise was coming from there. Annoying.. Im pissed.. what should i do?
