Default Re: 3.0 TDI power up again

Very nice, this actually puts most gas engines that I know of to shame in terms of pure power (or at least in a similar displacement). Now hopefully it'll make it to the US.

Default I read articles in IN MOTION magazine...

pages 20 and 36 issue 3/07 that MAN trucks EGR 'Add Nothing' solution to Euro 4 is winning orders in commercial fleets as it removes the complexities and costs involved in using AdBlue.

That Scottish Water and the UK MOD to name but two are opting out of setting up infastructure to handle AdBlue and saving money at the same time, should be noted by the likes of Audi.
Surely one high end German manufacturer can take a leaf out of its neighbours book.

Am I missing something here? Is the USA looking for a different spec? Will it not work in Audi's engines?

I am a firm believer in 'less is more' where possible and this seems on the surface like one of those occasions.

The stumbling block for Audi getting type approval for its 3.0TDI seems to be the Bluetec element as it requires periodical attention. But then again so do Windscreen washer bottles...and tyres.

http://www.euro4.co.uk/EGR/</a
