adblue refill light / quantity
any one have experience with adding adblue and how accurate warning light to add fluid is? Just had 15k service and dealer states on ticket they added 6 gal. of adblue. don't understand how as that's full capacity(aprox according to manual) and I never had a warning light come on. thinking they may have added less or my indicator light doesn't work??? Tks

If you paid for it on your own dime, they were still doing the "prescribed" work, but it's a bit of a waste of good Adblue. IIRC, the owner's manual says don't worry about evacuating Adblue unless *none* has been added in four years.
I'm going the DIY route with a VCDS, (although I haven't needed the VCDS for Adblue additions). For my Q5 3.0 TDI, I added a 2.5 gallon Adblue jug at my 15k service and still haven't seen the 1500 mile warning at 22,000 miles. So basically (if the computer is working properly) I have a worst-case burn rate (if my warning light comes on tomorrow) of using 8.5 gal in 23,500 miles or roughly at least 2700 mi / gal. (EDIT: Forgot to subtract original 5000 mi on odo from dealer fillup, so it's 8.5 gal in 18,500 miles or roughly 2200 mi/gal.) So although YMMV, I'm getting (at least) 13k mi / Adblue tank. So now that I've jinxed myself, I'm expecting the 1500 mi light soon...
