Default Coolant leak

I'm losing coolant fairly rapidly from my 1.9tdi in my 2002 A6, unfortunately not helped by the fact that I need to replace the commonly failing temperature sender! I've noticed that it seems to be pooling on the guard towards the front left of engine bay. Before I strip everything down and have a look at the weekend, I just thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas on what it is likely to be in that area.

Cheers

Do you know the three-letter designator for your TDI engine? There were no Audi TDIs sold in the US or Canada in 2002, but maybe that same engine was used in a VW model?

coolant flange on the end of the cylinder head. typicly oil leaks from the vacuum pump onto the flange and destroys the oring. This is on 1.9 TDI VWs in US, im sure its the same setup.
