Q5 3.0 TDI
Audi,
Please bring the Q5 3.0 TDI to North America...
The Q7 TDI is still to big and not as sporty.
With the latest educational marketing being done by Audi and VW, I think the US will open up to Diesel. Being a proponent of Diesel/TDI, every time I tell someone about the new Diesel technologies, they all have the same reaction, they had no idea and really open up to the idea of a Diesel vehicle.
The vehicle is basically developed and ready to go with only a few tweaks needed compared to the European models.
I know the political and marketing reasons behind the Hybrid Q5, but...

So much of the Audi sales strategies are the antiquated “carrot -n- stick” approach. As far as the diesel offerings what,,,, for MY10 it will be the A3 2.0TDI and the Q7 3.0TDI; bookends to the product/model range so to speak. MB NA has their V6 diesel in the E Class and M & R Class vehicles, big sellers I’d think. And BMW NA does its killer 3.0tt inline 6 diesel in the 3 series.<O</O

Maybe MY11 for the Q5 3.0 TDI … (w/DSG 7sp) … ?? I was kinda hoping for the A4 3.0 TDI, a Kombi even. Schee it, the 170PS version of the 2.0TDI goes like stink....

Possibly the 170PS version of the 2.0 TDI might work with the Q5 here in N. America.
The Q5 2.0 TDI I think would play in Germany if not for the simple reason of fuel cost there. The frugal use of fuel (or not) is often center stage of a EU vehicle purchase. I'd be curious what the fuel usage numbers are for the 3.0TDI and the 170PS 2.0TDI are. City cycle etc.
