It's easier than you think!
Rather than use brackets [ ] you need to use these things for <i>real</i> HTML tags. That will work for bold which is a "b" or italic which is a "i".
For a URL you use this tag (again inside of )
a href="http://www.norcalaudiclub.org"
Just put a at the end and you're good to go.
