2000 TT Quattro: Turn Signals Not Blinking
Hi Folks,
I have a 2000 TT Quattro that, given its age, predictably keeps giving me little problems that I need to fix. This time it's a frustrating one - the turn signals. A couple of days ago they just stopped "blinking" - no intermittent on/off behavior that is normal operation. It happens regardless of if I lock the turn signal lever down or merely hold it down for a few seconds (for a lane change, for instance). When I lock the lever down, the signal indicator on the dash on the actual signal on the front/back of the car stays constantly lit. If I hold it down temporarily, it stays lit for as long as I hold it down.
I have to think this is some sort of electrical issue (hopefully nothing major!) but I could really use your help and advice on how to tackle it.
Thanks in advance, everyone!

I think most people have found that the hazard switch w/internal relay is the cause and replacement is the solution. On rare occasions you might have a bad combi switch (ie the lever/mechanism).

The symptoms described are exactly what I had happen and it was the relay.
Here's a link to a 'how-to' for replacing the turn signal relay (which is actually the whole hazard button on the dash). I ended up buying the tools from my local Audi dealer to remove the radio. It's a pretty easy do-it-yourself project if you can get the radio out.
