2002 Audi TT Quattro thumping problems
After driving around all weekend and the majority of the week, all of a sudden I started hearing a noise. It's like a thumping/popping noise and it sounds likes it's coming from under the right side of the rear end of my car. It only makes the noise whenever I accelerate or decelerate hard and sometimes when I hit a bump. My only guesses would be a CV joint or maybe the drive shaft. Possibly the suspension though, I really am not too sure. Any ideas on what this could be? I won't be able to get it to the mechanic until next weekend so I am just trying to get an idea on what I am looking at. Also, every time I turn or gas it hard the suspension makes a somewhat weird noise and feels like its tensing up or something and it is croaking. Any idea on this one? Thanks for any suggestions and advice. I apologize for my lack of knowledge.

Look for a puddle of oil when parked, or even that wheel getting dirtier than the others. Could be a bad shock absorber. Some leak at the top, some tear open at the bottom and leak out all of their goo.

I haven't seen anything leaking under the car yet. As far as the wheel goes, it is in the same condition as the others. None are really dirtier. All about the same.

Well just figured it out. My car is lowered 2 inches and apparently when I went through some pot holes at work it made my exhaust come loose in the back so it has been hitting the frame.
