Default 2000 TT 180hp Quattro Coupe - about to cross 400,000km (250K mi)

I just picked up a low mileage (ha!) TT with 398K on it
aviator grey, grey interior, modshack intake, 225 dual exhaust, 3.2 front bumper/egg crate grille, adjustable rear lower link, vent boost gauge, no chip (maybe why its lasted this long). No recall, so no spoiler and the good control arms. I kinda like the spoiler though. If I did the recall I'd get alot of stuff refreshed, but probably not worth it.
It badly needs a clutch and is ready for its 3rd timing belt. Smokes heavily on startup. I'm thinking maybe the turbo seals are leaking and pooling oil in the intake, or possibly needs valve seals. Also open circuit on the evap purge valve and looks like thats a pain to get to above the muffler on a quattro. Otherwise its in good shape with only a tiny bit of rust at the bottom of the front fenders.
Has the usual door switch problem. Also, can't open passenger window from the drivers side, just close it. Pressed the hazard switch and it stayed down. I can't get it back up yet but pulling the battery negative and reconnecting it at least stopped the hazards for now.

First thing fixed was the Haldex.. there were only 2 of 8 pins left in the connector. had to splice in a whole new connector on both sides

Front parking light bulbs - broke the holder getting one of them out, but managed to glue it back together

Long sensor code - implausible. Tried recentering it with vagcom, still have to see if that works. It had to adapt 24m/s^2 which is quite alot. It sets during a steady state lateral g turn.

you just need to take care of it

I just finished the clutch swap, and found the break in the wire for the N115 evap valve above the muffler. New timing belt, water pump, side coolant flange, serpentine belt and tensioner, valve cover gasket and spark plugs.

So all that's left now is the longitudinal accel sensor, instrument cluster (temp and fuel gauge read way too high), and the door microswitch.

Here's a good one.. it still has the original coil packs! Apparently the original bolt down packs were pretty robust.

2001 180 QC, 251k miles, running great. I have had numerous problems over the years, mostly after crossing 200k miles. My second timing belt snapped at about 205k miles requiring a engine top-end rebuild.(shouldn't have waited so long) The only ongoing bug is a rare engine shutdown while driving with an occasional P1335 code to go along with it. The engine will restart immediately while driving. this started a few months after flashing my second ECU with the newest GIAC software. After replacing the L1 timing adjuster, the thermostat and coolant temp sensor, spark plugs, oil, etc. it happens rarely now. The acceleration is not as smooth as with the original GIAC physical chip. Never-the-less, 11 and a half years and 251K miles is pretty good to me. Hoping to keep the car 13 years.
