Default 2006 Audi TT 1.8 Brake Light Switch

Before you replace the Brake Light Switch because the lights stay on when you shut down the car---try this--- I have only had it occur twice about a month apart. For some unknown reason removing a battery cable from the battery ( isolating the batt) and let set for about 30 min solves the problem.
It just happened today (second time) , even bought a new switch , but before I started to replace the switch , thought I would isolate the batt. And again , do not know why but fixed the situation?
Have owned my TT since 06--really like the car but have to admit strange things happen now and then with the electrical system. I compare it to a computer when things act strange at times shut it down and restart and most of the time it fixes the issues. Isolating the battery in the TT does the same sort of thing.
