Default Air box holes

Hi got 53plate tt 225 it's got 3or4holes in the air box is it worth keeping like this ( as it was bought like this) or buy new air box. Heard that it gives a little bit more bhp but to be honest it looks a mess 😠 any help pls

I would just simply say get a new one. Air boxes on all vehicles are designed and engineered with the power and stability in mind. Vehicles that are turbo charged are designed specifically for the added are inflow from the turbo. there are videos all over the internet showing the difference with cars using stock air boxes, drilled air boxes (like yours), and ram air intakes. the difference over all, especially on turboed cars, is the stock air box gives higher power out puts. the other options showed a loss of 2-7bhp (dependent on the car).

Yeah was going to get new on ASAP just got her home today 😊 happy days.

Cover with a black piece of plastic. Seal with RTV or Silastic. Any color, even clear, will do. You can spray paint it black.
You don't want engine heated air getting in the air box.
