Audi TT Child Seat

Rear facing or forward facing?
A rear-facing child seat in the rear seat can be done. You have to fold the passenger seat forward to do it. I would disable the airbag anyway just in case. I tried it once, but it was very difficult to maneuver the seat with handle into the back to place it into the base. For the few trips in my TT, I used the front with the airbag disabled instead. Lots of people disagree with that practice, so use your own judgement.
Forward facing child seat is no problem. I have one installed now and use it every day. I'm not sure what I'll do when baby #2 comes along though.

Re: Rear facing or forward facing?
That is great info HaTTfield, now how did you harness the forward facing seat you got in right now? Will the standard latches work for that? Does your kid flip out at all or still too young to notice that he is riding in the coolest car ever made? Thnx man

I have 2 forward facing in the back of mine
Works best if you remove the rear seat cushion. One is a forward facing infant seat for my 2 year old the other is a booster seat for my 4 year old. Not much room to spare.

I have a 2000 and do not have the LATCH anchors.
It is installed using the seat belt and top-strap connected to the anchor in the trunk.
My daughter loves driving in my car. Usually she's in a 4-Runner and the perspective in the TT is totally different.

Re: Audi TT Child Seat
Since I rarely have the kids in my car, I have a travel size car restraint. It's just one padded back piece with a harness. The seat belt loops through the back of it. It's basically an adapter for making the rear seatbelt into a 4pt harness seatbelt. Not sure where my wife bought it. But it can fit nicely in the trunk when not in use and you don't have to worry about the bottom of a car seat making indentions in the seat cusion.

Re: Audi TT Child Seat
I used a forward child seat, then I found a booster seat from Toys R us that works great. One time I had to slam on the brakes really hard when some jerk ran me right off the road and I found the seatbelt dug into my son. I think it has to do with the angle and height of the TT back seat. A booster seat did wonders because it raised him up higher but he sat in a more natural position. Of course my 2yr old is about the size of a 5yr old.
