Default Audi TT wont start tried everything

Pulled up outside the house one Friday night. Monday morning the car will not start.

I am not getting the fuel pump priming but it works fine if i hook up 12volts direct to it.

I am not getting any spark the last time i checked (but will check again)

I have replaced the crank pos sensor so that is brand new.

i have changed the ECU. Made no difference.

I can not get any communication from Vagcom

Relays are all working

Ecu seems to be getting 12volts from the pin on the connector (left hand side connector if looking from engine bay)

when you turn the ignition on, I do not have a check engine light come on then go off. It does not appear at all.

I have traced wiring back from relay that controls ECU and everything looks okay. I have taken the batter tray out and checked all grounds.

I don't know what to check now and I am now at the stage where a perfectly good car will probably just be scrapped.

Any Ideas? anyone

The guys over at ttforum were helpful but tried everything they suggested and no result

Thanks in advance

Sounds like component to protection due to ECU being powered with instrument cluster disconnected.

Hi, can you explain in simple terms or alternative terms. Maybe elaborate?

Thank you so much

That was about as simple as I can say it. Sorry. Consider taking the car to a dealer or other qualified shop to diagnose.

A car hauling trailer is cheap to rent for a day.

It was more the use of English. "Component to protection" does not read correctly so thought maybe it was a mistype and therefore meant something else. I promise a dealer can not fix this. The diagnostic port won't read so a modern dealer mechanic would panic and won't know where to start. In my personal experience of course

The first thing the dealer tech will do if the diagnostic port is truly dead will be to verify the fusible link that powers the engine controller ECU is good and is getting constant and switched ignition power. Then he will verify continuity between the ECU connector and the diagnostic port connector. If no continuity, he will repair the break/short using standard automotive electrical system troubleshooting techniques.

If that tests good, he will likely replace the ECU. Dealers usually have a test ECU to temporarily install in an attempt to start a dead vehicle.

Default Is there a solution to this problem

I have the same exact issue. We’re you able to fix it?
