Hi -
I found this thread while searching for info on my turn signal issue. I'm hoping someone can confirm that what I'm experiencing can - or can't - be fixed by replacing the flasher unit. Here's the details of what I've been experiencing:

I was driving during the first HOT evening we've had since last summer and the turn signals worked fine, then minutes later I pushed one the turn signal lever and it felt and sounded just a little different than typical and the turn signal didn't work. After a few minutes a weird sort of buzzing or mechanical whir seemed to come from somewhere near the left side of the steering column. I parked and went about my business. When I returned and started the car up the turn signal worked again - for a few minutes. And it's been that way for the past couple weeks - the turn signal will work sometimes, then stop working, and occasionally I hear a buzz/whir from the left-hand side of the steering column.

Oh, and the other day my wipers did the same thing - worked, then didn't, then worked again.

Given that the wipers did the same thing, and the noise coming from left of steering rather than center of dash, I'm thinking that perhaps it's not simply the blinker relay? Any thoughts?

Yes, it sounds like the switch assembly on the steering column needs to be repaired/replaced.

Did mine today. The hazard switches available new on ebay all had a part # ending in B. The original one I pulled out had the same # only ending in A. From what I've read the new ones have better relays in them.

Hi Everyone. I was able to remove the blinker switch but I am having a heck of a time removing the actual switch from the harness. I aim pushing the two tabs while trying to disconnect it with no success. HELPPP.
