Bobbyh: I left I came back - 6 yrs later same issue (long)!
All,
It has been almost 5 years since my last post. I had finally had given up on my 2000TTQ with 282K on the dial. It needed lots and i had no time or money. Fast forward to this fall and I pick up an '06 TTQ with just under 80K I couldn't stay away and it felt like i never left although 225hp vs 180hp you can feel!
Well i still had my old winter rims, roof rack, etc. I was glad i kept them. Anywho I hit one of the massive potholes here in CT that very near swallowed the car but destroyed an aftermarket rim that i am now looking to replace. Does anybody have an old 16" x7.5 Ronal r7 rim? Way back in the day ('99-'00) there was a group deal on the r7 rims. Cannot for the life of me find any in the US now. Tons in Germany but not practical or timely at this point to buy and ship. I that Ronal is no longer in the aftermarket business so at some point new rims all around might be in the future.
But for now, it is so close to the end of winter in New England. Maybe! just maybe i could get so lucky and see if any of the Mk1 owners has one or knows of one Ronal R7 rolling around or collecting dust. Last option i can think of is roll the dice and put on the 17" all seasons it ain't like we are going to get several more inches of snow! HA!
Thanks all in advance.
Sorry if this was a bit long
