Default Successful Blue Flame Install

Thought I would report back after Greg225TT and I installed my recently purchased Blue Flame exhaust.

As indicated in my earlier post I had some concern regarding the way the pipes looked bent while the system was off the car. Nigel at BF indicated everything looked correct despite the non-symmetrical appearance.

I read up on a few installs and we took a crack at it.

Overall, the system did end up fitting, just not perfectly. I had to use (sorry I forgot who I should credit) the "exhaust hanger spacer" mod as recommended. I purchased longer bolts for the right side muffler exhaust hanger bracket and a few packets of washers. Removed the bracket, inserted the washers between the bracket and the undercarriage and reinstalled with the longer bolts. This essentially lowered the right exhaust tip 1/2" and aligned it evenly in the bumper cover.

However, we were not able to get the tips to evenly protrude out the back of the car. The left one still sticks out about 1/3-1/2" farther than the right side. I'm living with it for now.

As for sound, very subtle difference, no one was kidding there. I'm happy in that arena. Performance, slight improvement, but I'm giving that some time and some more romping on before I make final judgement.

Default it's going to take some time before it settles

and no matter what, it's still stainless, so it's going to expand when it heats up...

the left tip sticking out is normal for that system, all of them do that. The left tip will also expand more when hot, because that side gets moAr piping..

i have the same qualms that you do, i just live with it...

Default Same fitment here too. I was supposed to give them a call, but with the time difference...

and international calls, it's proving difficult.

strange. at least when cold, mine sits evenly. you shouldn't have to live with it.

You all have older systems. They've redone their jig since then and apparently it's not perfect.

Performance and sound changes are very subtle. Little growly with slightly faster spool up

Default I have a Blueflame Forge exhaust - tips are not even in terms of how stick out

the passenger side sticks out maybe 1/4 of inch farther. Can't get much older than a Forge system.

Default On the newer Blueflames, the left sticks out further than the right and the right tip sits too high

without a "shim" in place.
