Default DYI road rash rim repairs w/ pics

I repaired two rims with tires on today. The prior owner wasnt a very good at parking. I have 2 hours on each rim excluding drying time. First I cleaned with degreaser, cut down damaged area with Dremel tool, sanded with 50 grit and blew clean with air compressor. I then applied some JB Weld steel puddy stick and let cure for 1 hour. Knock the puddy down with 100 grit to just above final height, follow up with 600 grit, 1000 and 2000 grit. I then used my Mequires headlight cleaning tool and polished entire rim with headlight polishing compound. This stage will clean the spokes without scratching the the factory clearcoat and prep for next step. Follow up by spraying Klean-Strip Bulldog adhesion promoter over entire rim. This will allow paint to stick to factory clearcoat. (this is a great product. I used it on the endura bumber on my GTO with great success) let dry for 5 minutes then apply Silver Dupli Color wheel paint. Spray 2 light coats 10 mins apart then follow up with 2 heavy coats (or more if you desire) allowing 1 hour between each heavy coat. Follow up with several coats of rim clearcoat allowing 10 minutes between coats. Pics are of 1 tire start to finnish. Total cost of parts are less then 30.00 for the 2 tires. I hope this might help someone

My only concern is when I need new tires and how the tire machine treats the lip of the rim. I kept all product off the outmost area of the rim lip in hopes the tire machine will never contact the repair. I am not concerned about pot holes or over all durability. Only curbs!
