Electric roofs goes down, but not back up!

Electric roofs goes down, but not back up!
Hello! I am trying to sell my 52 plate Audi TT and it needs a little love before I can do so. My electric roof goes down perfectly however, it comes up about a 1/4 of the way and suddenly gets stuck, at which point you need to manually pull it up. It really sounds like its trying to bring the roof all the way up, but struggles big time before stopping. Why could this be? I don't often have the roof down (bloody British weather!!!), is this why?
