Default Friday night in the garage: Throttle body cleaning

Over the past few weeks, I have been getting a little random stumble at idle even after resetting the ECU (by disconnecting the neg battery cable for a few minutes); replacing coolant temp sensor; running Techron in a few tanks of gas; changing brands of gas; changing spark plugs (what else can I throw at this?).

So I finally had DanoTT talk to our tech at the dealership who suggested since my car has somewhat high miles (75K), I might pull the throttle body and see what it looks like, it might need cleaning. It takes some special cleaner (of course) that cost $4.77 (whew!) from the Audi parts department.

Well, here are the pictures, I'm thinking it needs a little cleaning! Dan is bringing over the cleaner - I'll post "after" pictures when I'm done.

Intake hose disconnected, throttle body still on car:

Throttle body removed from car - look at all that gunk!

Default After pics - nice and clean now!

And a short test drive was good - I'll report back if the stumble at idle continues (again, it's very random, but drives me crazy).

Here's the stuff used to clean it - according to Dan, there is some type of plastic micro coating (?) on the throttle plate that regular carb cleaner can damage. So use this stuff:
