Have you made sure the switch is in the middle position for door? or try turning off?

Default have the same problem...

then it fixes itself for a while, then surfaces again.
i presume it's the computer that controls it that's the defect, and i dont feel its important enought to replace an expensive part.
just make sure you dont leave the car with the lamp on, and run down battery.

Default Tryt this. I know it sounds goofy, but it works.

Sit in the car.
Make sure the over-head lights are on.
Turn the car on, start the engine.
Turn it off.
Lock the doors with the key fob.
Unlock the doors.
Open the drivers door.
Shut the door.
Start the car.
The lights should go off.

Excellent - this wasn't in the FAQ (question was there, though) so I added it there

Default Chronic----- Search " Lock/Light bug"

Mine does it from time to time, but much less often since replacing battery. Only once in past 6 mo.

Default Re: have the same problem...X2

I too experience this exact problem intermittantly. it will come and go, the other day while driving at night they came on, only way to get them off was to kill them at map light switch. I re opened and closed both doors and tried hitting their individual light switches.

it used to only happen at start up, courtesy light comes on when un locked and then stays on and won't shut off after car is started - this last one was random while driving on highway. good thing I was behaving in the car when it happened

any clues where to check / look ?
