Default my car is making a loud creeking noise while accelerating in 1-3rd gear. .

no noise in upper gears. seams it only make noise when there alot of torque...front of car lifts. Audi said it was the dual mass flywheel and would cost 2K. independant said it was the lower back bushing $20 plus labor to install.

Default more likely to be one of the engine mounts...

either pendulum (dog bone) or either side mount.

Default I told audi I thought it was one of the engine mounts when i tookit to them.

independant tech....i didnt say anything but told him the symptoms and let him drive it. he wasnt 100% sure but said it could be the control arm bushing (showed me a tear). he also mentioned the dogbone but wouldnt know until he opened it up

Default Just had mine done........

do yourself a favor and replace the front LCA bushing with a Powerflex poly. Stock TT's are fine for the rear one. When he replaced mine - he dropped the subframe and took them out. Was quite quick - probably took a total of 2 hours to remove the subframe, remove the arms, press out the old bushings and press in the new and reassemble. I need an alignment bad. The rears press out easily, the fronts are more difficult because of the aluminum sleeve around the outer circumference of the bushing.

Default dealers don't know ****...

if its not throwing a code they don't have a clue how to fix it. I had my car in 3 times for a suspension pop and they just played the replace parts until they get it game and still never got it. one trip to an independant got it fixed. if you're control arm bushing is torn, its probably a good idea to replace it just for preventative reasons. otherwise, try spraying the mounts down one at a time with some silicon spray and see if the squeak disappears. then you'll know which one it is.

Default Makes removing and resinstalling the LCA's a piece of cake.....

also allowed us to check the swaybar bushings as well. I wasn't gonna argue with him, he's one of the best tech's in the Bay Area.
