It broke my heart when Audi destroyed the look in the Mk 2 version of baseball. I got so many compliments on the interior. Baseball is pretty rare, only about 10% of roadsters had it. At that age, I'd replace radiator hoses as a precaution. Then change TB etc every 5 years or 60K. Be very careful when using the glove box. The latch is not very strong and it costs $1K to replace it.

I recently bought an 01 as well! Mine was NOT well cared for. In fact it is a complete mess. I have a YT channel and I am documenting my repairs on it if you are interested. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCf2...hvWXHbbRNjAWOw

I also have the baseball interior but I think I need to rip it out. It is just shredded. :/

Anyway. Enjoy the new ride!!

Another new guy here. I picked up a like new 01 TT with 34K miles. The seller is the husband of a friend who is the original owner so I know everything about this car and he is very particular. I have the original sticker that says the price was $42,100 plus fees and taxes and one upgrade he made so out the door was maybe $47k. Wow. I got it for $40k less 17 years later but it is a dream to drive. He had all things serviced or replaced in the past year.

The only issue? The broken glove box latch.

Ry the car guy I subscribed and some nice videos on there. Yup, the one 1.8 I drove up here had high miles like most of them in those years. Not all of us can be lucky like Steve Spiegel, wow! Sounds like a great deal you got there with the original owner and low low miles ever. Congrats to you both.
