Default I think my Audi TT has a gremlin, Need some advice...

Hi,
I think my Audi TT may have a gremlin. It’s a 2003 Audi TT Quattro (6 spd manual) with roughly 83k miles on it. I purchased it in Nov 2014.

1/5/2015:
My wife went into the garage to warm up the car, and it was completely dead. Absolutely no power at all…no dash lights, radio, etc. I hooked up low wattage (6 amp) charger to the battery. After 20 seconds I went back into the car and it fired right up. The battery is brand new, I purchased about 2 months ago.

12/29/2014:

I was driving and noticed both the rpm and speedo gauges just drop down to “0” and bounce back up (all within a second). That’s the first time I’ve ever saw that.

The issue that happened on 1/5 worries me. It’s cold up here in Chicago. I’m worried that when I get into my car in the parking lot that it won’t turn on. Has anyone experienced this with their TT? Is there something I need to do/fix?

Thanks!

My guess is you have a bad ground.

bad ground or alternator if the battery is dead. there's a ground connection under the battery that goes to the transmission.

Possible loose/corroded battery connection(s). Then follow both the ground lead and the positive. Verify that their first connection point is solid/tight.
