Idling problem
Hi all,
I have an Audi TT quatro coupe 2002 with 175k miles on it (first owner). The car drives very well except for idling issues in the last 2-3 years.
It goes like this, the car idle at normal rpm (750?) but every 3-5 seconds the rpm drops sharply until the point the engine almost stops (it does not) and then it corrects itself by going shortly to 1500 rpm. This repeats for ever. If I press the pedal slightly to 1500 rpm, it stay on this speed with no issue. Also, no issue when driving. I have the idling problem about 70% of the time but could not identify a pattern when they exist.
The car has Revo 'chip' but I had it many years before the idling issues shown up.
Over the years, I told my independent VAG mechanics about it and each time he replaced something (last one was MAF) but the problem returned. At one point he also mentioned a air (vacuums?) leak that he fixed but the problem persisted.
I love the car and it serving me well but I am getting annoyed by the idling problem. Before I get rid of the car I decided to try this forum. Hopefully there are TT gurus here that will help me solve the problem.
I just ran a VAGCOM scan and got the errors listed below.
Thanks,
K.
