There's a time period between "old" and "classic". We're in that now.
But who will be the buyers of classics in 10 years? 20 years? Younger kids.
Will they like a chick magnet convertible with 4WD and a turbo? I'd bet yes, if it's kept in good condition.
Life's too short to worry about resale values. If it was hot once, it'll be hot again. Just enjoy the trip.

That 52000 mile roadster I mentioned---- I flew to Texas and bought it today. Grandson approves!

It is a 225. Paid $7000. for it. I've put 800 miles on it now. 685 coming home and a trip to the lake. It is even better than I had hoped. Now to do the timing belt before I drive it any more. My boys (grandsons) here at home and their cousins were quite taken with it too :-).
Did I mention that I already have a blue coupe? Had it for 15 years

I have read a couple of articles about the used car market in general. They (one report from Ford) say that the entire used car market is dropping by 20%. Luxury cars are the hardest hit. The whole auto world is about to turn over. If you have not noticed the incentives on things like trucks are higher than ever. Good time to buy, not to sell. I might buy another TT (have a 2002 Q Roadster) in droptop like J!

Seeing the prices drop
I've been looking at '01 225 roadsters and the last couple sellers jaws dropped when I showed them current KBB private sale had dropped $500-1000 in a month. People are still asking 7-8k for cars no where near as nice as this red roadster posted above. I was starting to think I was undervaluing, but clearly the market is taking a turn down for sellers.
