Default manual trans cross compatibility ?

Im in need of a trans for my wife 2001 TT 172k on the clock. We found on local but before we purchase it i want to make sure it will work in her car. The numbers on her trans is WWO1 02M 301 107 D AZ 91HP the trans we found is numbered
WWO2 02M 301 107 D AZ 91HP he claims it to be out of a 2001 also, I just want to make sure it will work with no mods. I've learned how fussy this car can be.
thanks. J

If yours is AWD, make sure the replacement also is. If yours is FWD; make sure the replacement is.

What is wrong with your old one? Manual transmissions are not too hard to repair. The brass shift fork breaking is a common problem and is replaceable. A better than stock version is available .

yes both cars are Quattro. the replacement trans is $200. 140k

its funny you say about the shift fork. its stuck in first, you can play with the shifter all day and its still in first.

care to elaborate a little on the replacement fork. I'm sure there is a thread somewhere on it.

thanks J
