Default Mk1 TT 225 speaker issues

Hi I've just bought my first TT mk1 225 and with that it comes with a speaker issue. The previous owner has installed a pioneer head unit and has had a sub previously installed (this is not with the car now). The issue I have is the rear speakers aren't working and the front speakers aren't giving out any bass, the sound is really tinny. I have tried resetting the head unit and configuring the bass/treble setting on it but nothing has worked. Also when trying to balance the sound from front to back and left to rite through the head unit it's not showing as there's any rear speakers. Just wondering if anyone else has had issues with after market head units? I've taken it out and all seems to be fine with the wiring (nothing seems to be cut and/or bodged) thanks in advance

John

The only real way of checking that would be to power up the unit on the bench. Attach some speakers and see what you get. Sorry. Thats what I'd so.

Oh and hey, Congratulations! great Car.

This is my job for tomorrow. Thanks, never thought I'd enjoy a TT but gotta say it's the best car I've owned!

I agree. I have had many, many cars, and still do, but the TT is an incredible driving experience and the best I've every riden. Total Blast!!

Just make sure before you disconnect the power for that radio you have the radio code so as to be able to turn it back on again should it require.
