need replace/repair rear glove box flap or door part #8n786884524a
The latch on my rear cubby door is broken and I am looking through the interwebs for replacements and of course the prices I am finding are extreme ($170+) to replace the door (audi part number 8n786884524a).
1.) Has anybody replaced the door or come up with a fix better than just velcro?
2.) OR is there a good source of salvage or cheap parts like this?
Any assistance is appreciated!

Same issue exactly. not even sure when it broke. Thanks to the description I was able to figure out that the little protrusion has a l tip that is now missing.
CAnt seem to find the latch cover either? Anyone able to purchase - original or OEM? Share link please?
OR if there is a solution for the latch as is - the one suggested by someone above, is more intrusive... id like to keep the car looking original.
HEre are pictures of the car... 35k miles....

I recently "repaired" mine. I pulled the center trim out while chasing some issues with the CD changer (unresolved) but did find the broken off tip inside the latch mechanism. I glued it back in place and it's been sorted a month of so now. Nearly certain with a few pokey tools you could likely see if the plastic broke off in the mechanism and sort it that way without ripping the whole thing out.
