Default New Clutch

My clutch recently went out on my 2004 TT, and now it time to replace it. I don't know to much about the options for replacement. The mechanic I took it to said to stick to all stock OEM replacements from Audi. I was wondering if there was an after market replacement that could save me some money but still be as reliable as the OEM parts. Thank you In advance for the advice.

I would choose OEM or OES (OEM service parts without the Audi logo.) only. A brand name, likely Sachs, would be my only non-OEM choice. Figure if the $30.00 throwout bearing fails, the transmission has to come out again to replace. Don't chance it with junk parts.

I had the clutch replaced on my 04 TT 2 years ago.
My non dealership Audi mechanic told me the same thing. OEM
