Default New keyfob and key

Is the dealer the best place to get a replacement fob, and key.. Most of the local locksmiths won't / can't do it. any other options?

thank, Dave!

Sorry to agree with Mr. Bally, but the Stealership has you by the you know whats.
They have to order the key and then in a week you go back and they program the key. All for a low price of $ 225.
Kind of a monopoly on these things.

Although I do not live in the Hamptons out east on Long Island, that is where my nearest Audi dealer is located. But at Audi dealers, you get your car washed for "free" and out here if you are there on a Saturday bring your wife as your wife can get a "free" manicure (Saturdays only).
So, $ 225 or $ 290 sounds like a bargain. NOT!!!!!!!

My car came with a spare, unprogrammed key that appears to have come from ebay. I was able to program it with the Rosstech software and fob. The key was cut by a local locksmith, who said they are difficult to cut, but it works fine.
