Transfer case has a recessed Allen head screw in the North America "passenger side" output cup.

Plainly listed in the removal procedure in the Bentley service manual.

If you weren't using a proper service manual, you were kind of doing things blindly.

Did you align the rear driveshaft? Any chance it is rubbing on part of the exhaust?

I for sure have transfer case issues. I will have the car in the air on 4 jack stands tomorrow. I will know more then.
