Default Radio upgrade while keeping original "Concert"

Hello all, I´m looking for ways to use my IPod with my original 03´TT´s radio. I´ve searched online and there are great 1-bin options for upgrade but I want to keep the original since I love the sound quality. I believe these things were engineered to work with the stock configuration and modifying it would be a shame for me.

I´d also like to add BT functionality, is it too pretentious? should I really have to upgrade? Will upgrading the radio change the quality sound I currently enjoy?

Thanks in advance!

PS: If there´s a specific topic for radio upgrades I´d appreciate if you could direct me.

Default Solution

Hey Ronald, I was having the same problem, but I came up with a solution. To play music with an aux cord and to keep the standard deck you can buy a "cassette auxiliary" it retails for about 10$ C and you can pick it up at a Walmart or Canadian Tire. You insert the cassette into the stock TT deck and you keep it in there, the aux cord is attached to it, then you just plug your ipod and phone in and your good to go!

I bought my 01 Quattro roadster in November last year and also wanted to modernize while keeping the character of the car. I ordered the following pieces from Grom audio to provide iPod, Blue tooth, USB power, and audio input to my Bose head unit:
AUDI 98-10 Bluetooth Hands Free Car Adapter Kit (AUDB3) - 1 pcs x 134.99
GROM Compatible iPod iPhone cable Assembly (ISIPD) - 1 pcs x 29.99
AUX-IN 3.5mm audio and 5V USB Charging cable , 5FT (35USB) - 1 pcs x 14.99
It was a bit pricey, but does the job. I use an older iPod touch with the 30 pin connector as my music source. An old iPhone with the 30 pin connector would do the job, too.

My son's '03 came with a CD Changer. If your has one, Crutchfield has a really nice iPod /generic audio interface. Installing it disables the CD Changer. The single disc player in the dash still works though.
